A young woman gives birth to a horrifically deformed infant. She forces herself to remain with it in an isolated apartment.

A young woman trying to live her life. She is a singular personality, constantly struggling to "fit in." A painter with intense artistic aspirations, she is also burdened by deep insecurities—about society, her family, her friends, and her own sexuality. The closer she comes to adapting to the expectations around her, the further she retreats into her own private world: the world of the deformed infant and the dark apartment.

As time passes, the infant gradually loses its deformities, becoming increasingly "normal." At the same time, the Girl finds herself increasingly unable to communicate with the people around her. The two worlds she inhabits—one grounded in reality, the other a construction of her own mind—begin to merge into a single landscape. The Girl must confront this new reality.

The two sides of her life constantly overlap and give way to one another. Her psychological fluctuations grow more intense. Which life will ultimately prevail? How long can she sustain the distortion of her own identity? And, above all, how can her fears, insecurities, and her very nature cease to limit her ability to adapt?

The answer may not come at the end. But she may still have one more chance.
