The Greek Film Festival Returns to Brisbane in 2025

The Greek Orthodox Community of St George Brisbane, in partnership with the Greek Festival of Sydney, proudly presents the 30th Greek Film Festival Australia at New Farm Cinemas this October.

Brisbane audiences can enjoy a carefully curated program of feature films and documentaries that highlight Greek stories, voices, and culture on the big screen.

The festival will open with the Opening Night Gala screening of Kapetan Mihalis on Thursday, 16 October at New Farm Cinemas followed by a cocktail event.   Screenings will continue on Friday, 17 October with Athens Midnight Radio, followed by the heartwarming rom-com Greek Mothers Never Die on Saturday, 18 October.

On Sunday, 19 October at 4:00pm, don’t miss the documentary Dourgouti Town, followed by the inspiring biopic Stelios on Friday, 24 October at 6:30pm. The festival concludes on Sunday, 26 October with a double feature of documentaries, Two Homelands and East to West, followed by a Q&A session with the filmmakers.
