Ενα χειμωνιάτικο βράδυ τρία διαφορετικά ζευγάρια συναντιούνται στους δρόμους της Θεσσαλονίκης. Η Μαργαρίτα κι ο Σπύρος κλείνουν ένα χρόνο χωρισμένοι, με εκείνον να την αγαπά ακόμα και να θέλει απαντήσεις και λύτρωση. Η Μαίρη κι ο Πέτρος, αποξενωμένοι από καιρό, χωρίζουν - εκείνη τον απατά, κι εκείνος φεύγει σε μια βόλτα οργής κι αυτοκαταστροφής. Οι νεότεροι, οι Νίνα κι ο Στέλιος, τώρα ξεκινούν - συναντήθηκαν τυχαία και περπατούν μέχρι το ξημέρωμα ανακαλύπτοντας τις κρυμμένες ομορφιές που κρύβει η πόλη και η υπόσχεση μίας νέας σχέσης. Ο Σωτήρης Σταμάτης με τη δεύτερή του ταινία επιχειρεί κάτι που λείπει από το ελληνικό σινεμά: μία αλά Λινκλέιτερ δραμεντί με ιστορίες που αναγνωρίζουμε και μας αφορούν. Παίρνοντας έμπνευση (υποθέτουμε) από το στίχο «will you love me in December as you do in May?», επιχειρεί να κατασκευάσει μία σπονδυλωτή αφήγηση της ευθραυστότητας του έρωτα. Στην αρχή του όλα είναι αισιόδοξα και φωτεινά, σαν ζεστός καλοκαιρινός ήλιος. Τι κάνουμε όμως με τα πρώτα κρύα;
