30th GREEK FILM FESTIVAL – AUSTRALIA 2025

Share Your Vision: Submissions Now Open!

The Greek Film Festival (GFF) Australia proudly announces its 30th edition in 2025 and invites filmmakers to submit their exceptional work. We aim to showcase the richness and diversity of Greek and Hellenic-inspired cinema to audiences across Australia.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be considered for the 30th GFF, your film must meet the following criteria:

  • Film Type: Feature film, documentary feature film, or animation feature film.
  • Original Language & Subtitles: Films must be in their original language. If the original language is not English, English subtitles must be provided.
  • Greek & Cypriot Productions: Films originating from Greece and Cyprus are eligible.
  • Greek & Cypriot Talent: Films by Greek and Cypriot directors, writers, producers, or actors in starring roles (including co-creators with credit) are eligible.
  • Global Hellenic Diaspora: Films by directors, writers, producers, or actors in starring roles (including co-creators with credit) of Greek descent worldwide are eligible.
  • Greek Element: Non-Greek films primarily filmed in Greece and/or featuring a prevalent Greek theme are also welcome.

Important Considerations:

  • Streaming Availability: Films publicly available on streaming services (Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, iTunes, etc.) on or before the festival dates might not be eligible for screening at the GFF (subject to the GFF Committee’s special approval).
  • Work-in-Progress: We do not accept work-in-progress (WIP) submissions.

We encourage filmmakers who meet these criteria to submit their films and contribute to the vibrant program of the 30th Greek Film Festival – Australia 2025.

Important Dates:

  • Regular Submissions: 16th May 2025
  • Late Submissions: 31st May 2025
  • Very late Submissions: 8th June 2025

Films submitted after the 8th June 2025 will not be considered for screening in 2025.
