About the Director:
Born in Philadelphia, USA, in 1946, Randal Kleiser is best known for his feature film debut, Grease (1978), which has gone on to become the most successful movie musical ever made (so far). His other films include The Blue Lagoon (1980) starring Brooke Shields, Grandview, U.S.A. (1984) starring Jamie Lee Curtis, and Flight of the Navigator (1986). Summer Lovers was his third feature.

Summer Lovers only has a plot to give viewers an excuse to spend 100 minutes looking at attractive young bodies and listening to the hottest pop jams of 1982.”

Check your intellect at the door, set your passion and exploitation barometer to overdrive, and take a giddy trip to the Greek Isles in the early ‘80s where sex, surf and archaeological digs are the only things on your mind.

Peter Gallagher and Daryl Hannah play an impossibly good-looking American couple having fun in the Greek sun until boredom hits. He suggests trying an ‘open relationship’ and, even though she is a little reticent, she gets to like the French girl he hooks up with (played by Valérie Quennessen) and things start heating up.

A hedonistic depiction of the kind of Greek island lifestyle that only exists in pulp paperback novels (or does it?), Summer Lovers is your best excuse to have fun this year and your new favourite film… of all time.
