AMERIKA SQUARE SUBMITTED AS GREEK CANDIDATE FOR BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE OSCAR

Yannis Sakaridis' powerful sophomore feature Amerika Square has been selected as Greece's candidate for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar.

The "timely story of the opposing forces facing today's humanitarian crises...premiered last year in Busan and has won awards around the world since, including best feature at the Los Angeles Greek Film Festival this year." Hollywood Reporter

This follows Greece's nomination in 2010 for Yorgos Lanthimos' much-celebrated Dogtooth.
